Contributor of the Month (1998-2001)
The first contributor contests were based on their overall contribution during a month. Some of the prizes were huge compared to today -$300 in some cases - but was soon changed to the standard FAQ of the Month contest at present. Thanks to Devin Morgan for finding this archive.
Contribution Recognition (2000)

DMorgan becomes the most prolific author! (26th July 2002)
Devin Morgan becomes the most prolific author on GameFAQs, finally overtaking Dingo Jellybean. Note that ASchultz makes a post saying 'Is 10000 out of the question?' - a year later, Devin breaks this too!
1st Prolific FAQers Tournament / Going Retro! (21st August 2002)
The first of a long series of prolific tournaments, this was conceived by Colin Moriarty with bracket compiled and hosted by Devin Morgan, this tournament consisted of the top 64 prolific writers of that time and ended with Devin Morgan being the winner. A few years later it was replayed and labelled the Going Retro! tournament, which used the exact same bracket and FAQers, due to how people felt that the first tournament was a sham and that Devin supposedly stole the win from AstroBlue. This time, AstroBlue became the winner.
1st Non-Prolific FAQers Tournament (26th September 2002)
The first of the somewhat ill-fated non prolific tournaments, this was managed by krustster and hosted by Devin Morgan. The writers were either picked or nominated by other FCB users, and each writer had to submit their best FAQ for it to be judged throughout the tournament. Meowthnum1 won over black hole sun in the final.
2nd Prolific FAQers Tournament (3rd December 2002)
Complied and maintained by Devin Morgan, the second prolific tournament rolled around late in the year. The 64 top prolific writers once again fought for the much acclaimed prize with Adrenaline SL coming out the winner!
3rd Prolific FAQers Tournament (2nd March 2003)
Again complied and maintained by Devin Morgan with Brian Sulpher creating the bracket (link below), the third tournament this time had 96 entrants, 9 of which were non-prolific volunteers. This time there were three finalists; Dallas Scott, ASchultz and Kao Megura, with Dallas Scott coming out victorious.
2nd Non-Prolific FAQers Tournament (April 2003)
Hosted my The Admiral and BTB, this tournament took place in early 2003 and was one of the most remembered for it's tight matches and humorous introductions by Bob and Al. With four divisions and two different bowls offering two different winners, each entrant is judged on one FAQ of their choice. The winners were The Admiral (Slaughter Bowl Champion) and Phoenix 1911 (FAQ Bowl Champion).

The FCB Social board is born! (25th May 2003)
After much contesting by several users of the FCB, the Social board is finally born on this date! CJayC created it after several off topic topics were created on the main board in protest for a social board to be created. Below are two links to what the topics on the first page were like (although they are pretty much the same, I thought I would include them both anyway).
