It’s that time of year again where we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. Tis time for a tournament of tournaments, in which only the chalice of champions will emerge. Where boys become men and men become women. Trade your controllers in for guns and knives, because you are about to embark on the bloodiest crusade of all time. Even the emo kids will stop killing themselves just to see what’s going on… If you remember several months ago, a legend named Yami Shuryou and Meowthnum1 conceived a baby together, this baby was known as THE TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT *dundundun* Revived from the ashes, the tag team tournament (also known as “The Co-Author FAQ Tournament”) is going to be held on the FAQ Contributor Board very soon. The time is upon us to shelve our pride and this time, work in union with the people around us to create. Rules - All entries MUST be coauthored. This should go without saying, but it’s here anyways. - THE DEADLINE: The deadline for the nominations will be March 1st, 2008. There will be two or three days until the tournament begins (approximately March 3rd or 4th). If your FAQ is in the queue to be posted at that time, remotely host the guide and submit that as the link. If it gets rejected, then your guide will be disqualified. But if it isn’t, it’ll be included. - ANYBODY can nominate a co-authored guide, including your own. However: ONLY ONE GUIDE PER DUO. For example, if Devin and PeTeRL wrote a guide together, then you can nominate it. If Devin and Super_Slash wrote together, you can nominate it. However, Devin cannot have a second FAQ written with either PeTeRL or Super_Slash nominated. IF THIS HAPPENS, THEN THE AUTHORS CAN CHOOSE WHICH ONE GETS ENTERED. - A FAQ can be nominated an infinite amount of times, but only one per person. Both authors nominating their own guide will only count as one. Each person may nominate any amount of guides, but please do NOT go around nominating every single little guide you see co-authored) - All entries (at this point) MUST be a FAQ/Walkthrough (with a Circle next to it). Indepth guides will currently not be accepted, however if there is not enough Walkthroughs nominated, we may include them, or maybe make a mini category for it themselves. - Entries do NOT have to be complete, however it may detract from it’s overall appeal with the judges. - Entries do NOT have to be written for this tournament, however, those that are not may be discarded if required by the bracket. (see next point) -How the bracket will work will be decided once all submissions are in. All FAQs written specifically for this tournament will be put in, but if we obtain a number that is not easily workable with a bracket (for example, 17 or 18, 25, 26, 33 or 34), then some of the FAQs that were not specifically written for the tournament but submitted from a prewrite might have to be eliminated. They will be given the following priority - Guides written for this tournament - Guides with the most nominations - Guides written by authors who never visit/lurk on the FAQ Contributor board will be REMOVED* - Guides nominated in chronological order, first ones will stay before last ones *This is because the authors who never visit or even lurk won’t get satisfaction out of knowing their file won. However, if there are multiple nominations for this file, it stays instead of the files nominated last. -The bracket itself will be made using a random generator, as it would be difficult to seed considering the unique nature of this tournament. - When it comes to writing, do not only consider quality and format, but also consider the fluidity of the FAQ. Does the writing styles of the two authors mesh together well, or do you clash with the section where one person’s part ends and the other’s beginning sticking out like a sore eye? Do the authors build on top of each other’s strengths? Do they, for lack of a better verb, synchronize? -Also consider the game you write for, judges might consider an Xbox 360 FAQ more helpful than an Atari 2600 game when they are voting. -Judging will be done in the manner of the Prolific/Non-Prolific tournaments, everyone who has a Contributor Profile with at least one FAQ/Image posted can vote. YOU CANNOT VOTE for your own file, but you can vote against it if you truly believe your opponent’s is better. -If you don’t want to vote on a match up or you are a competitor in it, you can ABSTAIN from voting. -Judges are voting on the FAQs submitted, NOT the authors. REASONS AREN’T REQUIRED FOR WHO YOU VOTE FOR. -In the event of a tie while judging, the matchup will be reposted the next day for re-voting. Any questions, comments, concerns, pizzas, suggestions or ssjgotenks92011337uber1202_2000's? I picked March 1st, 2008 because: - I want to have it sooner rather than later - It'll be interesting to see how well writers can work under pressure - I need to give people SOME time to write, and a few days to get organized for it. Oh, another thing (I don't think anyone here would do it) but you can't just tack someone's name onto the end of your new guide to qualify it. Nope :O So anyway, if you see a co-authored guide you like, or have one that you wrote, nominate it here. Authors: samurai_goroh & Thekingofthisgame's Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town (http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/589702/28030) This was a great guide I used, it's marked as incomplete but it's really not.
