GB/GBC Completion Project V. 1.2

llamaman2 | Posted 7/8/2007 4:10:45 PM | message detail
Well, we again lost the old topic to the purge. The GB/GBC completion project is a project to try and have a complete (full-circle) guide for each game on the Game Boy and Game Boy Color.

To check out what games still need a FAQ, check this website: http://faqs.retronintendo.com/

So far this project has generated 36 complete FAQ's between both systems.

I plan on doing Power Rangers Time Force and Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue (both FAQs and maps for both games) for the GBC, but it's gonna be awhile before I get to them (as they would be part of my Power Rangers FAQ list).

Someone has been neglecting that site. I'm still working on Inspector Gadget: Operation Madkactus, and have a partial walkthrough up. It might be some time before I can actually finish it though.

Honestly, the GB/GBC project has been going nowhere fast. I keep up with updating when I see something worth adding... But I'm also considering just dropping the project from my site. There's clearly not enough interest, especially if TWO of its topics purged so far...

Looking at the List of incomplete games, the first name, that appears is LtCmdData 7/27/06. Well,he closed his account some time ago...

Devin, why drop it? Perhaps when the NES project finishes (which it will at some point) the Gameboy project will emerge as the dominant project.

I'm finishing up the Checkmate FAQ.
SubSane | Posted 7/8/2007 11:30:54 PM | message detail
If you decide to stop hosting the project, Devin, I'd be glad to do it.

Besides, the whole point for this site is to hold FAQs. The whole point of the completion projects is to get every game atleast one fully (or close enough) complete FAQ. I'm sorry, but we can not just "drop" a completion project until the mission is done, no matter how attention it's been lacking. It's still there, and we need to complete it!

llamaman2 | Posted 7/9/2007 12:39:19 AM | message detail
Yeah, most attention is currently on the NES Project. That's why the SMS Project ran out of steam. Once the NES becomes nearly completed, the people working on it may migrate to the GB/GBC Project. If we drop completion projects then the whole idea is pointless.

Until you host it, you don't tell me how to handle a site that I myself host. Got it? >_>

SubSane, would you seriously be interested in taking it over? I'd like to think I keep up rather well with the updates, despite them being few and far between (I may be off with putting people down for a game they plan to FAQ, but I definitely add them to the completed games list when applicable). But apparently some people here think I'm not staying up to par, so...

I am serious, however I should add that if you would still like to keep hosting then I'd prefer that. These two particular projects have been going on for some time now and having them in a central location seems optimal.

Honestly though, I'd prefer a system where someone sends a weekly email with a list of guides submitted that week, then the host (whoever it may be) verifies that they're there. I think having to comb through posts in a thread is what makes it a drag.

I'm reserving these three original Gameboy titles. I'll get them all done in about 6 or so hours, as the titles are really simple.

Tidus, if you don't mind, can I finish that game? If you already started working that's okay if you keep going then. I think I'm near completion, and a week should get me done with the faq. If it's another one of the tom and jerry titles, then go ahead by all means.

Can anyone recommend me a really short RPG title I could FAQ in a couple of hours?

Go ahead, Llamaman. I've started working on some other projects, plus I have school coming up, so my time is now next to nothing.

I was going to find my copy of Frogger today and FAQ that (pretty sure it still hasn't been written for), but it's suddenly disappeared. So, I'm going to keep searching high and low, and once I do, I'll get to writing...>_>

Since I couldn't find it, I just got a ROM...>_>

Not exactly my type of game (since I can't simply give the reader a step-by-step explanation of where to go/what to do), but I'll fix something up for it.
