It could have been superb if it was released 10 years ago, but now? Ehh, not so much. I'll still see the movie sometime in the near future, but I can't say that I'm as excited.

Super Slash, you are what, 15? The show is older than you and you missed the good years of the show. This movie nearly makes up for the last crappy seven years that have been on TV. Plus you have this wet blanket (sorry to steal that SD, but it hits it right on the head) mentality to you, so I expected you to post, and do so negatively.

I've seen some of the greatest satire, intellectual and social commentary, and postmodern humor of the 20th century before when my dad watched it, and it was just never my thing

Just came back from it, and I thought it was...

Quite average. I love classic Simpsons, easily some of the best TV ever, and after some rave reviews I was expecting it to mirror it. I just thought the plot and some gags were copied from certain episodes, and it just didn't cut the mustard.

I just hope further watches give out hidden gags like the show does (can SD confirm this?). There were some real hilarious moments, but I came out of it being a little underwhelmed.

Im not going to see it to wednesday, and i can't wait. I have 65 episodes in my sky+ HDD waiting to be watched. In gonna have a simpsons marithon day on wednesday. wont watch all of them i dont think. Can't wait to see it on the big screen thou.

I gotta say the animation is awesome though. The CG ish bits blend in well, and it does look quite pretty on such a big screen.

By the way *spoilers*

What was the point of Colin? Just to give Lisa a part in the film?

Well, you definitely need to stick around for the credits. There's a lot of good stuff in there (I liked the scene between Mr. Burns and Smithers, and how it says "Filmed on location in Springfield, ____________" towards the end).

I was also interested in trying to catch who was among the crowds in the group/mob scenes. That'll have to wait for DVD though, so I can freeze-frame them.

I think they tried to include as many minor characters as possible.

It could be a cannon for the series even thou dr. nick dies, cus bleeding gums and snowball I died.

Although, With *another spoiler* Maggie talking i dont think the simpsons would be the same.

AH-NOLD as pres is a theme that dates back over a decade, both in his own discussions as well as movies (Demolition Man coming to the forefront as the first to do so... in my mind anyway).

I'm going to see it on Friday with my cousin and possibly a friend from middle school. I'm really happy to see that it's gotten a pretty good reception from critics. ^_^
