We all knew this day would come, but in no way did I, and probably many others, ever expect it would come so quickly. Jeff "CJayC" Veasey has given us a wonderful site to visit and to contribute to. Without his efforts many of us would not have spent the many hours of work that go into writing a FAQ, and as a result our lives would be much different. You have given us a place to host our work, a place to grow as writers, and an extremely supportive community in which to do so. Perhaps no group of people will miss your presence as much as any and all contributors. He has also led me to many great friends I would never have met without GameFAQs. And perhaps that is the greatest thing he has done. In many ways, he's been a shaping influence in my life. And I'm proud to say that for me he's been a hero of sorts. He took his dream and ran with it, persevered through all sorts of obstacles, and now that dream has come true in the fullest sense of the word. There are many people who have helped make that dream a reality. Many of these people are still here regularly after all of these years, still contributing and making GameFAQs even better. Maybe the contributors made the site what it is today, but it could never have been done without you. We are all indebted to you, along with all of the people behind the scenes that help keep the greatest site on the web alive and running. You have given us a home, and for that we will be grateful. So on behalf of the contributors of GameFAQs, to whom I hope I do a measure of justice, we wish you a fond farewell and the best of luck in the future. Thank you for all of the memories. What can be said, really. You're more than just the guy who pulls the
strings to the contribution community- you are the rally point behind
which we all stand. I don't think you can just "phase out" from our
minds- you've meant far too much to us, and you probably always will. I don't pretend that you're going to stay; if you say you're leaving, then that's that. I second all of that which LethalLink said, though. You will be missed, and we will always look for you to come back, if only to chat and check up on your community. --- Signatures that consist of quotes are bizarre- you could falsify a quote and no one would know.-Jesus |

CJayC was (and still is) an awesome maintainer of this site and the
forums. It's still going to be sad without him, but I respect his

I'm not good with the whole "Let's go team hoorah!" thing, but I can
understand where he's coming from. Everyone has to move on from what

I guess it's my turn. When I started FAQing 5 years ago, I really didn't know how far I was gonna go. And now, well I'm still at it with contributing, as well as really expanding on my true talents. I just wanna say thanks for supporting my talents in writing and mapping (by posting them). I never thought I would get this far without that. Hopefully the decision you make with leaving will be the right decision for yourself. And if it is, be proud of that decision and the website you have created. Sure it's been a big bumpy road, but you've seem to manage no matter what. After the moment you leave, here's hoping that bumpy road will be just as managable as it has been on this site. ^_^ --- If it's meant to be, then it's not meant for me. I'll say something meaningful later when I can come to terms and think up the past. For now, though, I will say one thing: the scariest thing is that, at the exact time that he wrote that message, I WAS IN Houston. Kind of odd, considering that I was just passing through even. |

lost and confused, but I think it's best for you to do what you thing

CJayC has had his share of detractors, but the fact is that the work he
did with GameFAQs changed the way I and many others use the Internet.
GameFAQs was one of two sites that inspired me to build one of my own
(and had the same affect on many others), and the design of his site
made it easier than ever for people to gather online and obsess about
an industry that no longer means to CJayC what it did at the time he
typed that first line of code. Any of us that post here regularly have stories to share, because GameFAQs is a thriving community and because it means so much to people who love the games of the past, present and future. I know there are plenty of industry veterans 40 and over who still love games and always will, but if CJayC no longer does, there's no reason to torture himself and keep spending so much time immersed in that culture. He has built a magnificent site that would live on in the hearts and minds of thousands of gamers, even if it were to drop off the Internet tomorrow morning. That's something he can be proud of as he heads to future hobbies and interests and leaves the site's future in the capable hands of its dedicated mods and administrators. Thank you for turning your passion into something so many people can enjoy, CJayC, and best wishes for whatever your future holds! |

| I've only been around here for a little over 4
years. In that time, I really haven't contributed much. What I have
contributed...well, there were a lot of screw-ups, all of which CJayC
was quick to point out. While I found this frustrating, as I'm sure CJ
did, I learned through trial and error that it wasn't just for the
betterment of the community, but my own personal ability to improve the
community. And...I guess I owe thanks for that. Say, I'm I the only one who would submit an update a week before Christmas with a holiday greeting in the notes box? Personally, I see CJayC standing among us in the future. This day was inevitable, we all knew it would happen someday.
Personally I didn't think it would happen so soon, or while I was still
hanging around on this site. It's just one of those things you get so
used to. I figured I'd be long gone before it actually happened, and
then I'd hear about it through passing conversation only... but that is
not the case. I am glad he created this site; it gave many thousands of people a fun hobby to supplement an already-existing one. Plus, it actually turned out to be a GOOD site, unlike others which will remain nameless... It took a hell of a lot of effort to make things into how they are today, and it wouldn't have been possible without CJayC starting it up for all of us to build upon. With that, I guess all that needs to be said is a big thank you for everything he's done over the years, and being cool under pressure despite every imaginable situation he's had to deal with as a result of this site and its forums. We as contributors should also be quite thankful for all of the bounties and contributor-geared contests over the years where he sought to reward us monetarily for our efforts. Despite what's been said, the man was the site. Without the man the
site is just a site... at least it feels that way. Things always seemed
to stay in relative order and control "as long as he is around," so

I missed the memo, but if Jeff is really leaving, he will most definitely be missed. I've been on gamefaqs since the beginning and have gone on many hiking trips with Jeff (alright, only one of those statements is true) and the dude has been an online fixture for me since I got on this crazy interweb thingy. I doubt he'll contribute that much, he has already given enough to the
site we love. Anyway, its time for him to move on, and the vice captain
is now captain. Now is just how well the team plays. Will we remember

I always knew it would happen but I never really expected it to. It's a
bit disappointing to be sure. I've had a ton of fun writing guides and
making a few new friends here. I met the two people who are now my two
dearest and closest friends here years ago and this site has been an

Maybe I shouldn't go away to the beach for a week anymore. Every time I
have something changed drastically on gamefaqs. Last year it was the
layout, and now cjay is leaving. Having only been here 2 years, I can't
say too much, but I can say that most of gamefaqs will miss him, this
site is a great thing. Good luck to SB as well, I know he will be a
good lead administrator. Thank you Cjay for this site, you deserve all

Sad to see you go, CJay. I remember coming here for help when I started
middle school. I start college next month. Honestly, how many people
have turned nothing more than a rainy day project into such a lasting
