Which FAQer would you most like to meet in person?

I think that the "real" me is the me you see on forums and such. I'm a
lot more open about myself than in "real life," where I refrain from
doing things more. I think that's how a lot of people are. We either
pretend to be something we're not when online (because we hate who we
are or we are extremely bored) or we act like an unfiltered version of
ourselves (because there are fewer risks and we're comfortable with our
identities). I've seldom met anyone who didn't fall into one of those
categories.

So I wouldn't punch you in the face if I were to meet you.
Then don't say that you would.
I'd punch KK in the face, but it's not because I hate him! I just hate him, is all.
Finally, some clarity.

KK is a drama queen, quite clearly. I'm sure it's not a coincidence
that he's also involved in drama and the arts. Creating mountains from
molehills and focusing on what others ignore are usually important
parts of the creative process... however annoying this may be in the
normal course of conversation.
You never do know if a person on the message boards is anything like the way they are in real life. Take McFadden as one example (pathological liar who made a life for himself) and Hypro as another (pure troll who reveals nothing personal). But assuming that KK's posts are indicative of the way he thinks and acts in real life, I'd say he clearly suffers from social anxiety and is highly insecure. He never had the stones to tell the girl he "loved" that he cared for her, and instead spent years feeling sorry for himself and sharing it through overly verbose narratives ad nauseum. Most other posts are so over-dramatized or didactic that seem to be cries for attention and/or recognition.
But to each his own. He just one of the many characters that make this board interesting.

I think that's a good point. Who knows what kind of weird individual could be lurking behind those online personas. I'm going to have to go ahead and say I think people would be surprised how equally eccentric I tend to be in person, quite possibly moreso since I have less time to choose my words carefully in speech than I do when posting. People have pointed out to me on more than one occasion how creepily similar my (casual) writing is to the way I talk, probably a result of my tendency to frequently use commas and "...'s" to try and convey the timed delivery of speech.
"Whoa... you actually talk like that" is a reaction I've heard before XD

Making up a "persona" specifically for online use (where people can't
beat the **** out of you for acting like a twit) is childish and
immature, quite frankly.

I've met up with a large number of people that I met online, in real
life, and they say I'm pretty much true to form. How I come across on
forums and in chat rooms is how I am. So there we go.

I think the persona he was referring to was more that a lot of shy
outcasts in real life tend to to be exuberant outgoing
conversationalists online. Not that I don't imagine there are a fair
number of aggressive internet jerkwads who would cower in fear at the
sight of their online targets, but still. I think regardless of their
net personas, most people are generally likable if you can ever get a
peep out of them ;)

This topic is amusing.
I'm curious about seeing Karpah, because I can remember many topics about her hotness, of course most of them were from her boyfriend of the time, and the curiousity sparks from the fact that I need to believe FAQ writers are a sexy bunch indeed.
I don't really want to meet her, I know nothing about her :S

KK, did you miss my point about how your topics all meld together? This
means I do not recall all the instances and what I posted because there
is no way to differentiate between your topics. So you can take the
loving of the tofu elsewhere, as you need to concentrate on your
comprehension skills here.

nothing to say to you. There is no way you're going to turn THIS one

1. This topic was about meeting people and I am still checking out
posts to see answers, cause it is always neat to see said answers.
2. You are on a message board... I think you are handling your own waste of time.
3. Give me three weeks, I highly doubt I will recall this topic either.
Anything you want me to try really hard to recall? I will make the effort for you, cause you are clearly all bothered by my not remembering every little thing I have posted in the past in regards to you, so I will try to alleviate that issue for you. You have enough issues seemingly (whether real, imagined, or concocted for the board's benefit), so I do not want to overload your stone bearing back here.

The main difference in how I am online and how I am in real life is
that in "real life" (it sounds so weird to call it that), I'm a little
flamboyant.
In much the same way a sumo wrestler is a little overweight.
