I just noticed that ImmortalLynx pulled all of his contributions and got banned. I'm not sure if this will effect any of the completion projects, and if it does, I guess changes need to be made.

he seemed plenty reasonable and relaxed to me on the Zelda 3 board. i didn't figure him for the type who would pull all of his stuff, especially given he'd recently submitted some sweet dungeon maps for that game. :)

kirbix: How are you going to go about the Zelda3 maps? istr you posting a screen dump, but don't know if you went any further. I definitely liked ImmortalLynx's simple style maps (it's a shame they're gone), as much of a screen image is irrelevant, wastes file space, and would be hard to make out when shrunk. However, a disadvantage of him drawing them manually versus using screen captures or rom dumps was that a few dungeon elements were in the wrong place or not entirely to scale.

Working off the maps extracted by the Hyrule Magic editor seems like a perfect way. You can see all of a large room at once, and you don't have to visit rooms just to draw them. I'd be inclined to: take a screen from Hyrule Magic, shrink it a good 50-70%, then draw over it using a reduced colorset (or if Photo Shop lets you do an initially transparent layer over another one, literally trace over it).

At least ImmortalLynx went down bravely...

That's better than any of us will ever do.

That's a shame and I feel sorry for him, but what is the point in wasting all that hard work because of a site layout change? I don't see it as much of a problem, and certainly it isn't enough of a travesty to make me pull all my work from the site. That's just stupid.

His contributions, his choice. If any change or no change at all makes him feel he no longer wishes for GameFAQs to host his work, more glory to him.

Of course if I were to leave GameFAQs I'd choose a slightly more...mature manner of doing so. But that too is his choice.

assassin17 : Yeah, you're recalling correctly. You're absolutely right, too- I dumped the idea very quickly as it was VERY tedious and wasn't worth it.

Basically, I'll be drawing them (I hadn't thought to use the map editor as a guideline, but I'll do that now, if you don't mind >_>) with some images inputted e.g. an enemy with a key will appear as an enemy dot with a key over its head.

Simple but thorough, basically

You're gonna hand drawn them? Good luck! I was going to hand drawn them as well, but the problem came with doing both Overworlds (I wanted to do some in-depthness, such as secret passages).
