War Doc, if CJayC from before 2004 went into a time machine to the
present and talked about the integrity of GameFAQs like he used to,
would you look down your nose at him, too?
It isn't as if the people who are complaining aren't feeling the same way that CJay felt at some point. But I guess when he changes his mind, all of us are supposed to change our opinions too at the exactly same instant or be labelled as whiny little brats.
Please keep us updated as to how you and CJay want us to feel about GameFAQs each week, because apparently doing otherwise makes us insubordinant.

If GameFAQs is just like any other site, then why are you people
spending all of your free time here? Certainly you could go elsewhere
to one of the hundreds of other sites that are LOL OMG EXACTLY THE SAME
and have a much better experience, given that we're all the same now.
In fact, I implore you to do so as you help to give all of us a bad
reputation. Go help IGN become "the console fanboy site that does
nothing but troll", please.
Well, Gfaqs has become less and less important for me over the years, but it's still important for me. I want it to STAY different, and moving towards a more "modern" board isn't always positive. This board is constantly moving towards a board with huge sigs and pics and avatars... I can get enough of that in other places. Gamefaqs is unique, and again, as a person that's been here for 8 years I don't want to see it get ruined.
PS - Check GameFAQs' numbers on Alexa since 2003. The hits have gone up at a rapid rate since the purchase, so apparently they're doing something right.

Oh my God! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this post. Instead of making a gigantic fuss, here is someone who has seen the reward given, realized the steps necessary to attain said reward, and decided on a plan of action in order to receive it. THAT'S HOW IT WORKS!
Even if it was said in semi-jest, this is the attitude to have, people. Instead of whining and crying like children about "oh the site is so terrible and this or that is so unfair and wah wah wah somebody call the wahmbulance", how about being proactive? How about thinking about what you've got to offer this website - and then offering it? That's what it's all about!

This is getting ridiculous. How about we cut the stupid **** already?
Why SHOULDN'T those who contribute a lot to the site (the ones who do make a difference, and no, making one FAQ or submitting data for one game does not cut it) be given the added perks automatically? I think we deserve it after all we've given to the site. I agree that the site should be ad-free for everyone, but apparently we can't have that, or there will be no revenue. But here we are with a choice to give an ad-free site to those who did the most for the site.
So in closing, I ask this to all those folks (with no contributor pages, ironically enough) who flooded this topic: If CJayC were to ask what YOU do for this site to deserve the added perks without putting anything into it, what would you say?
