I'm just posting this here to give the guy a chance to defend himself. I don't know if he's lying to me or anyone for that matter but he sounds sincere so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. CJayC, this is between you and him, so please don't shoot the messenger. This is what he has to say, he's probably viewing this as we speak, so respond or not as you wish.

Here it is:

"look, cjay, i wasn't trying to rip off mangaman's walkthrough, i was trying to update it, i forgot to put in the credit parts, and didn't realize it. can i please get a second chance, it won't happen again."

Again, I assume NO RESPONSIBILITY for anyone's actions, I simply thought he deserved to tell his side of it. Whether he gets unbanned or not is not my problem or my business.

Also, according to the help files you cannot be unbanned. Deal with it. "Forgetting to credit someone" is just a pathetic excuse that should never have happened.

If you're going to use the guy's entire guide, it sounds to me like fogetting to give credit isn't even an issue. What should really happen is that this guy should make the minor updates, then the original author should submit it and credit him.

He did not simply "forget to credit" the original contributors. He actively removed those 64 lines of credit from the guide. Or, alternately 64 cases of "forgetfulness". Oops.

As you know, drawing attention to yourself when you're guilty of more crimes than you've currently been accused of is a sign of extremely poor forethought. So, after reviewing his other previously posted guide for MGS3, there's little doubt he also copied and pasted all of the "Previous Story" bits from El Greco, uncredited, given that he also copied and pasted his typos. Significant portions of his controls section are also character-perfect replicas of LionHart627's guide. More "forgetting", no doubt.

And finally, not to mention ironically, in his copyright statement, he includes the following:
"This guide is property of Billy Fountaine. This guide may not be ripped off, meaning you cannot paraphrase this and re-submit it under your name."

I feel this matter has been effectively and properly dealt with in a manner befitting the accused.

*shakes head* Bottom line to the OP, don't get involved in this process any more. It seems that if you continue to be involved, your "friend" will pull you down that same dark path.

Greysnakegenocide screwed up royally and there is nothing that will undo that damage. I strongly suggest that you let the matter rest and move along.
