Is this a recent phenomenon? Because the rating system was changed
several months ago and you now have to register to rate FAQs and
reviews.

I already registered. I had the ability just yesterday but today, the
link to rate FAQs is missing and the dropdown bar to rate reviews is
gone. I haven't even started rating anything yet...

At first I thought you meant you can't rate anything anymore from a mental standpoint.
Like, you used to rate things, but it's just not in you anymore because the system has jaded you!

Well, it's true Sash. There is that topic on the Help & Critiques
board in which some of the users decided to ridicule the poor user
instead of trying to help him write better reviews.

Oh, I know it's true.
And always been, to be honest. Been a reviewer since late 2000 - even if I'm not a very active one - and not much has changed. I think that in the way it treats newcomers, the review community mostly has itself to blame for how badly it has diminished over the years. No replacements were trained for the people who got bored of reviewing, caught up to by offline life, or moved to other sites.
