The thing that's bothering me, is that Sini seemed to have copied a mission briefing from Split's guide, but the mission briefing was in the game almost word-for-word, right? So, Split can't really claim that Sini has stolen his 'creative writing', since he didn't wrote the briefing himself. Thus, I don't think what Sini did is too serious. Here's what I think what happened:
Sini is writing for the mission. For some reason, he forgot to write down the mission briefing from the game. So he thinks: "I could wait and add it later on, or I could just copy it from another guide". The thought behind this is that if you copy something from a guide that copied it from the game, you're copying from the game, not from the guide. Follow me? Like, if you copy a quote from a book in a bookreport, you're still basically quoting the book, not the report...still following?
So, I don't think it's much more than a bit of laziness on Siniroth's part. He failed to see some traps, and now he's got to hang? Give him a break, one act of lazy 'copy-and-paste' work doesn't make him a thief. --- No sheep were harmed during the making of this sig FAQ's: 6 Current FAQ: Ratchet and Clank 2 |

It seems most of you guys are really taking sides rather quickly without hearing both sides of the story. To me I'd rather hear both sides of the story instead of after hearing from someone about what someone did without proper justification of hearing both sides of the story. Even in a time like this the term Innocent until proven guilty can take part, how can we if there's people taking sides already as well as jumping to conclusions. Maybe we should think with clear heads rather than start jumping at someone that either doesn't know about people accusing him nor doesn't want to say something at the moment. Ever since I got off the computer for the night I didn't think there would be people doing such bickering over such a thing without thinking through such things like "Did he really do it?" or "Did he do it intentionally?" These are questions that nobody has brought up, maybe about if he did do it but the other one I didn't see anyone wonder.

O_O
In regards to your first issue of the topic, there are a few a things that need to be addressed here. The first is that whilst playing and writing for the game, when the Mission Time! appeared on-screen (must've been late or something to that effect), I neglected to copy down the information, and I took it from your guide. Now, I thought this would be harmless, however, now that I see that, I realize that I should've asked you beforehand, so this was totally wrong to do. I should've at least creditted you if I were to do this. I will fix this immediately, and I assure you that this was the only one this was done with. And also, I do tend to move back and forth between abbreviations (noted in the "Using the FAQ" section), but, LB. is not one, so, I'm sorry, and glad that you caught this. It was not meant to blatantly anger you or cause anything like this to happen. My apologies.
I now would like to address the second issue you brought up: the one about the accessories section. I honestly have no excuse for this one, as there were quite a few accessories that I did not obtain throughout my playthroughs (I guess due to laziess, or lack of motivation to write, I dunno...), but I missed them, and I resorted to various sources for information on them (approximately 7), one of them being your guide Split. Now, I realize I was wrong and unjust in doing this, and should've looked for them myself. I admit to doing this, and will get to fixing this with my own information.
I CERTAINLY did not mean to start any thing like this, and again, I do apologize for any inconveniences or problems this caused for you. That is all. --- SinirothX | FAQs: 17 (5291K) [#17] | Reviews: 17 (171K) Currently FAQing: FFX-2, FF7, FFMQ - I am beyond sexy. |

He finally speaks on the situation, hopefully everyone will calm down now since he apologized for not asking and it can be a common mistake at times, but knowing Split he probably won't accept apologies. I for one do but something like that happened with someone doing it with one of mine I'd take it up with them personally not go about bringing it up on the boards. If they don't want to correspond I would just go about reporting it.

Warhawk, and wait for like a year before something actually happens (like somebody pointed out in this matter)?
Okay, Siniroth, you made your stand. Now I suggest you read thru more of the topic and see another point I brought up about you copying stuff from my Character's Status section.
While I'm at it, I hope you can explain following:
#1 In my guide in CH1 I cover all other areas first, then I go to Besaid. Naturally, after completing it, all that's left is Zanarkand as a hotspot. At which point I get final entry White Magic added to my main menu, as pointed out here...
...Back on board of 'Celsius' check your main menu - final entry White Magic has been added. Switch one of the gals to white mage and have her learn curative magic which will prove mightily useful in upcoming boss battles...
Now let's take a look at your guide... After finishing off storyline mission 2 where you nail Boris, you cover Besaid area *first*, then you take the long trek of covering all other areas, leaving Zanarkand for last. And what do I find there...
The introduction to this area is quite melancholic, and I almost let out a tear as I sat there and thought of that moment of one of my favorite games of all time. Anyway, after it, and seeing it degraded into nothing more than ****ing tourist attraction, you may continue *resists urge to drive stakes through everyone's heads* Note: White Magic option has been added to your main menu.
You had white mage dressphere all that time, yet this is the first time you mention the last entry to main menu?
#2 Strategy for Guardian Beast. Aside from mentioning its attacks etc...
Here's the recommended setup for this fight: Mythril Gloves acc (buy in Zanarkand shop), any type of acc that grants elemental strike properties, Helios Guard GG - pass thru red gate to obtain Auto-Protect, Raging Giant GG - pass thru yellow and blue gates to obtain Berserktouch - then inflict berserk on Guardian Beast to never see Curse and Damocles Photon.
What do you have?
<Another suggestion is to have the Raging Giant Garment Grid, move on through the blue and yellow nodes, and get Berserktouch to inflict on Guardian Beast. Guess what this does. It prevents the usage of both Damocles Photon, as well as its Curse attack, meaning all you'll have to deal with is its normal physical attack, again, dealing laughable damage.
The problem here being? Were you to actually write your own strategy, you'd know that berserk wears off after a while if inflicted on enemy. Therefore you WILL still see Curse and Damocles Photon after time lapse. You did steal this information and nothing will force me to think otherwise.
There's more... |
