Submission poster and Board Administrator. Hell, I remember when he was actually fun, submitted FAQ's, and was more open about his life. Now, he has become this robotic-like person who is very serious and very rarely has fun, rarely submits guides anymore, nothing...I miss the old cjayc....

As much as I tend to agree with you, you have to remember that he has one of the largest sites on the net to run and maintain. Back when this site was a lot smaller he had the time to chat more often.

Yes, but the thing is, backlog, at most, only takes two hours to clear. Although I know there is many other things he does unannounced, he still has time to do a mini-review, or at least tell about E3 when he comes back. I know he spends half his day working on this site, and wants to run a normal life with Shadotak, but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun.

For example: At 2001's E3, he gave a somewhat long (By his standards) review of the event. In 2002, it was shorter, but he did address some thing from the event. This year, he didn't even bother.

I mean, why build a empire of one of the biggest archives of video game info and collected data, and only do what is required and nothing more.

I'm sure he does get out an have fun. Perhaps it just isn't here. Like I said, the site wasn't so big back then. He had the time, and half the things that are on this site most likely weren't present then (of course, I can only guess, as I wasn't here myself). He also wasn't still making the move from CNET and searching and fixing little bugs here and there. Once he finally gets on top of things, I'm sure he'll get back to his old self.

For the record: I'm not just some mindless CJayC fanboy. I just respect what he does for us, and I think he deserves to be cut a little slack. THAT is why I am defending him. It helps that he seemingly a pretty nice guy as well. :)

After the first hardcore stalker or two, I pretty much stopped revealing any personal information whatsoever.

Over the past few years, I've had to change my phone number, and I've had to rent out a PO Box so when I moved I could keep my new address private as well.

I've had enough death threats over the years to make me a bit wary (even though I know that nobody would ever act on them) but I've gotten mail from people who live in Houston saying they drove by my house, just to see it.

The "old" CJayC still exists, he just keeps to himself, as he's not comfortable with celebrity, even net-celebrity.

Actually, I stopped doing the mini-reviews because since the takeover, I felt that the home page shouldn't have any editorial content. Not CNET's call at all, it was all mine, so take that, conspiracy theorists!

Wow, I guess you've seen watching the goings-on for this site from wayyyyyyyyyyy back. Apparently I haven't observed this site quite as long as you have, but from what I can tell, that CJayC's deigned to post twice in a single topic (that he didn't create, no less!) is quite something. Somehow I feel a third post from him isn't likely.

But anywho, a humble salute to the Ceej from a semi-oldbie and infrequent contributor:

Three cheers for your continuing efforts, and "we love you man!"

I remember the days of the IRC chat. I remember being like 13 and in there talking about final fantasy...

I remember my first written piece that went up on Gamefaqs in early 2002. Now I study the dictionary and write all the time (even a company's publicist)

;_; Damn nostalgia.

Sometimes I wish I sucked again, so I wouldn't have to spend hours per review.

Actually, what "Jeffery-boy" should do is make a portion of his site [www.cjayc.com] exclusive for contributor discussion with him. This would let us comment on all of his ideas instead of the few he posts here now and then. That'd work out great, it's not like making another board on another site would be hard for him. He could just use Gamefaqs code.

Anyone else like this idea? It'd make it to where we'd be able to discuss his ideas with him and or even propose our own.

Okay...

Anyways, why would anyone want to stalk CJayC? Just because they got banned? The way I see it is this:

GameFAQs is CJayC's job. Just a job. The same as working at Burger King, except it pays more money. You don't see someone coming out of Burger King for their break and you see a arrow go fling past their head. Also, it is not like CJayC is a celebrity that everyone want's dead. He is just someone who created a site that got huge.

CJayC, did you ever find out who the stalkers were (note, I have only been here for a few months. I have no idea of what he happed to CJayC before I signed up. I just get all this information from lurking around)?

The reason he never posts is because every time he does, the topic soars to 500 with posts of 'OFGM ETS CEEJ' and 'Cool.' and 'CEEJUS$#!@#' and such nonsense.

Truthfully, it's sad. Very few people can actually talk to the guy normally. Which is why I'm sure he has an alternate account, but that could never be the same..

How do you know that is true mon? I remember back in October 2002 when I had a FAQ for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and instead of having my Contributor Name Warhawk it had BSulpher instead. I made a topic here about it and I remember CJayC happen to post in that topic I made concerning my FAQ for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 but the topic never made 500 posts, there were only like around 10 posts.
