Funny, it's much easier and much harder to pick winners with the new format. Easier because there's less to choose from, and harder because there's so many good guides...

Winners of these contests (as well as some past ones I'm behind on, like FAQ Bounties) should be getting mails in the next 48 hours, assuming no catastrophes happen in the next day or two...

I guess the 10 months and 2 days that it took to finish my Silent Hill FAQ even though that I may have to fix a couple things still with it. I'm suprised that I managed to be one of the five November FotM winners, I knew if there was one guide that would have a chance it was that one.

Yea, it's good to see that one of my FAQin' Partners won something...But one thing though, if a Co-Authored FAQ wins, does the prize get split, or what, or even if Co-Authored guides are even excepted?

Wow, I never thought I'd actually win something like this. I'm happy. Also, congrats to all others who won (too many to list them all).

Oh and Jason, I doubt co-authors are accepted, but I haven't actually tried to enter a co-author FAQ in a contest yet.

^ unsensical post... well, moreso than usual ^_^*

I'm going to ask one of my closer US friends for an address. After I get up my FFX FAQ/Walkthrough, I'm going to submit it.

I'm a tad disappointed about the new legal issues, but what will be will be. More than anything, I'd just like to know WHY we have to be US citizens to enter...

Anywho, congrats to all the very deserving winners!

The reason why you'd have to be a US citizen (or get one to assist in the process) is because of legal reasonings. If for some reason you were involved in a fraud suit with let's say Amazon.com. Perhaps you duplicated a 100 GFAQs gift certificates, and used them for purchases on amazon.com. According to jurisdiction rules, GFAQs could be held responsible because there's no way of prosecuting your outside residence. Certain laws that would apply to fraud and things of the such could not be prosecuted against you because you aren't living in the US. That's a bad example, but eh...

It's a complicated process; CNET does it just to protect their own arse. Heck, I don't blame them for doing so.

*waits patiently for the awarding e-mail*

I can wait for it but I usually tend to check my Yahoo! mail which I used for to contact at before and at 10pm (EST) since I live in NY. I know you are busy and all that but I am a bit eager since this is the first time I won any contest on here. I also check it whenever I get a chance after I wake up, whenever that is, so I'll go about making sure that I update my NASCAR FAQs and hopefully work a bit on my Silent Hill 3 FAQ while trying to get the NASCAR ones done. I hope that the my SH3 FAQ will win something, if it does like with my FAQ for the first game. I will have to wait until I submit it to see if it gets posted and then enter it.

Okay, I got mine, but I'm nut understanding this part:

Claiming a Prize: Winners will be notified via email within 5 days following the prize drawing using the email address they provided with their entry. All prizes must be claimed within 10 days. To claim their prize a winner must respond to GameSpot’s prize notification email and complete the Affidavit and General Release included with s uch email. All unclaimed prizes will be awarded to alternative winners randomly drawn from the original pool of eligible entries for the Sweepstakes. Prizes will be shipped to winners at GameSpot’s expense, though GameSpot is not responsible for lost or stolen shipments or any prizes returned as undeliverable.

All I got was the certificate, and some fine print from Amazon, but no prize notifaction email from GameSpot, with no thingy in it.
