Some people have mentioned this tourney has gone quick, and I feel the
same way... Here we are at the final match of this annual tournament.
The matches have been great right from the getgo, and this final match
is no exception. But without further ado, let's get on with it...

Same system as last time for me. Quick winner is BSulpher.
So anyway...
Content: Worth 5 points. I find Brian's stuff to be easier to swallow at times, but Devin's full concentration on absolute content makes this far too close of a match. The little things will have to win out here.
Brian: 2.5
Devin: 2.5
Format: Worth 4 points. Neither are too great in this department here, but Brian wins this one. Devin's format gets a little older in the long run because he reuses it so much, and Brian's is slightly better to begin with, IMO. Plus, Devin's paragraphs are a tad too long, which is a pet peeve of mine.
Brian: 3
Devin: 1
Humor: Worth 3 points. Brian takes this one; Devin's work can be a tad bit too dry sometimes.
Brian: 2
Devin: 1
Complete/Comprehensive: Worth 2 points. This is the one category in which Devin wins in, as I've found his guides to occasionally cover slightly more.
Devin: 1.5
Brian: 0.5
Game Selection: Worth 1 points. This is another one extremely hard to choose, but Brian just slightly wins this one. Devin's done the newer games really well, but Brian does the old ones supreme justice.
Brian: 1
Devin: 0
Brian: 2.5 + 3 + 2 + 0.5 + 1 = 9
Devin: 2.5 + 1 + 1 + 1.5 + 0 = 6
Winner = Brian Sulpher

This is a very tough match.
Content -
Brian - Brian's content is very good, and of high quality.
Devin - Like Brian, his content is of very high quality.
I'd say Brian's quality of content may be a little better, mainly because of his NES FAQs. He's played those games for what? 15+ years? His experience of playing those games shows in the quality of his writing.
Format -
Brian - Brian's format is a tad ugly, but still fine. It's not fancy (just like Devin's, not fancy) but it's nothing to make you go "I need a format like that!"
Devin - A simple format. Compared to Brian's, it's nicer. I think the format gets the job done. But then again, they both do. Still, Devin's has the upper hand since I've found it to be more accommodating.
Humor -
Let's face it, neither of these guys have tons of humor in their guides. One may argue these guides are "technical documents", so humor should be irrelevant. Personally, I like a little quip of humor every now and then.
Games Covered -
Both writers have covered various games for various systems. While Brian covered NES games, Devin covered more popular games, but has done many others (including a couple of FAQs for systems I've barely heard of).
Their best guides -
Brian - Brian's Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! guide kicks so much ass. It's supposed to be a guide to get you through the game. It does that and much, much, much, much, more! Truly Brian's best work!
Devin - Devin's Chrono Cross guide is an excellent piece of work. I haven't played the game, but I read over a large portion for the tournament. Truly Devin's best work!
Overall -
Brian, the master of the NES, against Devin, master of Zelda games among other things, against each other. I've used many of Devin's guides in the past. I've used several of Brian's guides in the past. Both are excellent, excellent writers and are deserving of this victory. Through a lot of thought, I have decided that the following writer is a tad more deserving:
Brian Sulpher.
Brian's an excellent writer. As he keeps writing, he will get so amazing at it, it's unbelievable. Both writers should keep up their hard work. Very few writers, in my humble opinion, could beat Devin here. Brian is one of them.
DAMN that was a tough match.

Sorry, Steve. Blame the NES emulator for deciding to put Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! in the folder that it opens by default.
Anyway...man, this one is hard. It would be hard either way.
I'm going to have to give the nod, however, to Devin Morgan.

Just like the final should be; two of the best facing each other. With
that in mind, it makes it extremely tough to choose a winner. I hold
both writers in very high regard and they write for similar genres.
However I felt that by looking at a game that they both have wrote for,
Legend of Zelda on the NES, that Brian does it so much better. Don't
get me wrong, Devin does a fantastic job, but Brian goes one step
further with more helpful commentary and some superb ASCII diagrams
literally throughout.
Although Devin has the slightly better format, Brian's works completely fine and I feel that most of this work has seen more work put into it. I feel Brian also deserves more to win for this work on uncovered FAQs. His Bubble Bobble FAQ is one of the best on the site too. To conclude, although Devin is better than the vast majority of writers on the site, he's not quite as good as Mr. Sulpher.

I'd have to give the nod to Brian here, just very very slightly. Both
excellent writers and worthy of being in this match-up. Congrats to you
both :)
