That's right, I haven't forgotten (neither have some of you, I noticed :P). The next installment of the prolific FAQ writers' tournament is set to begin in early July, most likely the 1st or 2nd. Many of you on this board should know how these are run by now, but for those of you who came about in the last 6-9 months... Basically I set up a NCAA-style bracket of the top 64 writers from the prolific FAQers list, and we match them up against each other, allowing this board to vote upon the better writer in each matchup. And for those who are used to the way I ran these in the past, don't expect any new changes to pop up this time; the rules are the rules so either deal with them or don't vote.

This announcement is just to let people know that the tourney is coming, and if you wish to be included in the bracket, now is the time to get moving. The actual bracket will be created based on the top 64 writers as of June 30th, so you have until then to move up/down the ranks. If there is any new news, I will be sure to post it. Thanks.

The last tourney I hosted ended on... April 26, 2004. Damn it's been a while. This one coming up will be the 8th tourney in the series, the first one was held in August 2002 for those who were curious.

But you know what's interesting, Brain (Brian)? Adrenaline is in 64th spot. So should any author under her submit a big enough FAQ, they can knock her out of the tournament so that she won't be participating </wit>.

Devin, if you want I can update the prolific list on July 1st. Because of the time difference, that would be the end of June 30th in the States and that would give you enough time to set up the bracket. You can just take the top 64 writers from my ranking list.

Great, I'm really looking forward to it! Thinking about it an annual competition is a better idea (I was rather disappointed at first) as there are a fair few new writers this time which will make it all very interesting... I would have took part if my motivation wasn't shot and I didn't have exams to revise for... I'll aim for next year instead.

SF76, there IS no #64-128 in terms of Prolificness, although if you asked REALLY NICE, timski could probably use his robot to get the 64-128 top writers in terms of KB. Or, you could just use 64-96, because be sheer coincidence, only 96 authors have passed the 2.5 MB line.
