The chief designer of Carmageddon 2 and designer for Stainless Steel's just contacted me. Whee! Well, anyway I was wondering whether other users got contacted by the game designers they were writing for.

| I emailed the game developers of Rugby League to ask a few questions. They responded, and that was pretty cool. There are a few developers on these boards, and a few of them worked on RotK for GBA. |

Yeah I think a few FAQ writers get their names into the new RotK GBA game because the developers liked their FAQs. --- FFT Versus Tournament http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.asp?board=2000051&topic=12019268 |

Yeah I've had a few individuals on the team behind Equinox contact me, and some more people behind Rogue Spear as well.
It's kind of neat to hear what they think, and often times you're able to mutually help one another.
ie: the equinox designer was able to confirm what happened to a room that didn't seem to exist. While my rogue spear FAQ allowed the AI designers to see how I got around the AI in the current game, so that they can improve it in the next one.

Jeronimo Barrera, the executive producer of Smuggler's Run from Rockstar Games, emailed me to thank me for writing an FAQ on Smuggler's Run on December 13, 2000. I still have that email in my inbox...even if it is over three years old. I got an e-mail from one of the developers of Monty Python's The Meaning of Life who, after I had uncovered every possible cheat in the game, was kind enough to explain what they meant, as well as taking pot-shots at the project lead. :)
Not quite a mail, but I actually got to meet Douglas Adams for a few minutes and got a signed copy of the game thanks to my Starship Titanic FAQ. That was a rush, given that I'd been reading his stuff since I was in grade school.

Last Spring, I was contacted by Codemasters Australia requesting permission to host my Le Mans 24 Hours guides on their site. Of course, I quickly agreed :-)
Following the writing of my F1 Championship Season 2000 guide, I submitted it to EA Sports to see if I could generate some feedback, and also to see if they would implement some of my ideas. For about a month, I was actually in contact with one of the F1 2001 developers :-) Unfortunately, as I am in the States and the development team was in UK, I had to turn down their request to be a playtester for them; it simply would not have worked logistically, plus I was teaching at the time.

I saw my name in the credits of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time for the PC, albeit on a webpage. I have yet to check for sure if it's a hoax, as I haven't recieved anything from the developers... Not getting my hopes up high.
It'd make my day if it did, though; I'd purchase a new copy and display it if it were true :)
