Wow, I guess not too many of you liked yesterday's round either... Either way, we did get about 15 voters to come out, which is pretty good, but not as good as the upwards of 30+ we've seen in past tourneys/rounds. Ah well. Here are yesterday's winners:

69 - falsehead
37 - AstroBlue
12 - Brian P. Sulpher
21 - Joni Philips

Once again, if you are going to vote, you must provide reasons behind each of your picks. If you do not, your vote(s) is/are void!

The URL to the tourney bracket, as well as CRP links to everyone's work, is at:

http://members.verizon.net/~vze4c9cs/pbracket6.htm

Good luck to those in Division 5!

2 - Andrew Schultz
vs.
66 - Croco

34 - GheddonLN
vs.
31 - John Culbert

15 - Jim Chamberlin
vs.
50 - Snow Dragon

82 - Shirow
vs.
18 - Dallas Scott

2 – Andrew Schultz: Almost all of his FAQs are for obscure games with very little coverage, which is something I respect in other writers (although it's not something I do). His format works quite nicely and his stuff is greatly detailed.

ABSTAIN

50 – Snow Dragon: The main thing I like about Snow Dragon’s stuff is that all of his FAQs are very detailed, but they’re quite nicely sized and easy to browse through. Many of his FAQs are terrific, but I particularly enjoyed reading through his Zelda: Link’s Awakening one.

2 - Andrew Schultz (fun, easy, collective, and cool. That sums up Andrew's stuff)
34 - GheddonLN (Gheddon's mapping skills are far from in-between, but they're grand. That Onimusha 2 guide was extremely helpful long ago)
50 - Snow Dragon (Link's Awakening destroys you. Best guide for the game.)
82 - Shirow (I'll go with the minority, because I love Orochi K. Joe & Mac! Woo!)

What the hay, I'll vote today.

2 - Andrew Schultz: Once again we have two authors with well-written FAQs that get the information to the reader in an effective manner. So I turn to quantity. Schultz has written several FAQs for the oldies, and those are quite the rarity.

34 - GheddonLN: Vargas' FAQs cover a wide variety of games and are written quite well, which allows for more variety in the writing.

50 - Snow Dragon: There was no competition here. Although Chamberlin did have some comprehensive FAQs, they lack the detail of walkthroughs.

18 - Dallas Scott: This one was a tough one, but Scott's format seemed just a bit better.

2 - Andrew Schultz - Classic writer of Modern Times. Read his Castlequest Walkthrough, simply uncomparable to Croco in amount of work.

34 - GheddonLN - Great formatting in guides (MGS 2), eye catchy, and helpful information. Culbert writes for the much harder genre, but most of his work is just character guides.

15 - Jim Chamberlin - Despite list-like Game Genie Code FAQs, this guy has overwhelming FAQs for strategy games. Rise of Rome, Rollercoaster Tycoon, heaps of information!

18 - Dallas Scott - Traditional writer who details games down to their blueprint. Nice layouts, even a few maps here and there. Despite Shirow being a foreign language writer, the guides actually don't seem to compare well to Scott's.

2 - Andrew Schultz
Andrew Schultz packs extremely informative information inside those old-school guides. He's one of the best old school writers on the site, seriously. He also has a nice format, so he is truly something special. Plus, even though Croco's work is good, it's nothing that special.

34 - GheddonLN
Gheddon's FF9 and Xenogears guides totally outmatch anything I have ever seen from John Culbert. Although some of Gheddon's format could use a little work, the information is superb.

50 - Snow Dragon
The thing about Jim is that he submits mostly Game Genie Guides. Snow doesn't. He deals mostly with high-quality guides for a good variety of games. He certainly has more variety.

I'm so happy, so happy, so happy... I reached the third round, good enough for me. I was kinda hoping to lose to Brian.

2 - Andrew Schultz: In depth writer that covers unknown games. Although his writing very good, his format could be improved.
34 - GheddonLN: Good format, excellent information and good writing.
50 - Snow Dragon: More in depth writing
18 - Dallas Scott: Better format

2 - Andrew Schultz
vs.
66 - Croco

Not much to say here except that Schultz is great classical writer that uses alot of detail and has great formatting skills. Croco is a respectable writer as well although he just can't contend with Schultz.

34 - GheddonLN
vs.
31 - John Culbert

In one word, detail. Looking through both of these guys guides I can say that in comparison to GheedonLN Culbert lacks a little detail in some places. Both of these guys formats are good so it came down to detail in the guides.

15 - Jim Chamberlin
vs.
50 - Snow Dragon

Nothing much in here except I prefer Snow Dragons format over Chamberlins.

82 - Shirow
vs.
18 - Dallas Scott

Detail and formatting. Scott wins single handedly here, I found Scotts formatting as well as his detail quite superior to Shirows. Shirow is still a good author but he was placed up against one of the best on the site.

I feel that my reasonings were reasonable enough for him not to void my votes. So far, nobody has voted for his opponent, so it's not like it's gonna matter anyway. I'm just posting here which authors I prefer, and it looks like the only thing you are doing is trying to be a smartass.

I don't know, nintendomaster didn't get his vote counted for saying basically the same thing you did. Oh well.

CyricZ has awesome guides for DDR Max games, Eternal Darkness, Star Wars, and more, and each guide he does seems better and better. The amount of info he packs into a quality format is amazing, and he always seems to complete them quickly.

GheddonLN has some awesome guides, mainly for FF9 and Tales of Destiny 2. He is one of the rising stars on the site, and it's especially impressive considering english is not even his first language.

Jim Chamberlain has long been one of the better writers on the site in my opinion, with great PC guides, and a nice wrestling format that I used to envy a lot.

Dallas Scott is a noob, but he's still an excellent writer. I think he'll be big someday...

2 - Andrew Schultz (tough match-up, but ultimately the amazing skills of Andrew to bring out the most in a game won through. His comprehensiveness and ability to express all the necessary info so clearly is just about untouchable by any other FAQ author).

Neither (no one really jumped out here, both having faults with their work).

50 - Snow Dragon (Jesse is a writer who continue to evolve his work, continually improving his ability to be clear, insightful, and comprehensive while using a format that is pleasing to the eyes).

Neither (both are great authors, making it a little bit too difficult to choose).

Reasonable to him perhaps, not to anyone else.

Why not, there's obviously a good reason why you would be doing this.

Snow Dragon - love his writing style and general in-depthness of his work. Jim Chamberlin's guides are probably as useful as Snow Dragon's are, but Snow's are hilarious to read and never getting boring, while nothing of Jim really stands out when compared to other authors.

Sorry Dev, can't help but feel responsible for the reasons blurb ;)

66 - Croco - Might not have covered as much, but I just like his style.

31 - John Culbert - back in his day he was number ******* 2 on the rank list, and is matched only possibly by Kao in the fighting games genre.

15 - Jim Chamberlin - used to be much more active, a good writer, lots of good PC game stuff.

18 - Dallas Scott - one of the top 3 writers on the site, the depth in each of his guides takes the cake here.

If none of you have any purpose of being here (one of you only posting to complain about how I'm running things, another one getting technical because I nailed him a couple days back, and another one just trying to troll), how about leaving? I might want to remind some of you that it's called disruptive posting (aka against the ToS and fair game for moderation) by carrying on needlessly if you aren't going along with the topic at hand.

Basically, if you're not going to take things seriously (not literally, but just not being ridiculous about your posts), don't post. I don't need any of you here if that's the case, it's that simple.

I completely agree. I made bad posts that should not have been counted, but I do not see how you can criticize me, and not the others. If you are going to punish one, you must punish all. I do believe my posts have significance, and are not disruptive at all. Now that I have told you that I will leave your topics alone. Please consider my advice.

66 - Croco
Both are great writers, but Croco's a friend. Muahahahaha.

31 - John Culbert
I'm not a big fan of GheddonLN. JCulbert was one of the first great faq writers too.

50 - Snow Dragon

18 - Dallas Scott

No Vote

34 - GheddonLN - Wrote an excellent guide to Xenogears and backed it up with a FAQ for Xenosaga, the work in both wins my vote.

No Vote

18 - Dallas Scott - Writes good for big games, in depth guides, the real deal, and has great ASCII if that counts...

34 - GheddonLN: Gheddon is a better writer, in my opinion, and he is extremely in-depth as well.

Abstain.

82 - Shirow: Dallas is very good, but Shirow's Garou FAQ/Move List is one of the best fighting game FAQs I've seen. He gives like a paragraph for every move in the game. Plus I like his format better.
