After a successful first 8 days, we have finally made it through Round 1! We do, however, have a tie from the Division 8 grouping, so that match will be rerun tonight as well. Anyway, the winners I did tally are:
6 - Split Infinity 70 - Shdwrlm3 91 - BTB 27 - Efrem Orrizonte 11 - Mysticcat 86 - Atom Edge
As you may already know, if you are to vote in any of the following rounds, you MUST give (legitimate, real) reasons. Basically, don't write something you think will make me think twice of it. Also, so you know, I have also pulled SinirothX from the bracket altogether, due to plagiarism. I simply can't have that (imagine if a plagiarist won our tourney, sorry). So Trace has an auto-win there, lucky him...
The bracket, along with CRP links to everyone's work (and I do advise everyone to check out the authors' works if you haven't already), is here:

Good luck! Division 8 Rematch:
22 - Kayama vs. 107 - hooi
Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan vs. 65 - Fox
33 - Aaron Baker vs. 32 - Myke
16 - Wolf Feather vs. 49 - Kain Stryder

65 - Fox: Despite the fact he's a total jackass, he writes good guides for Japanese stuff, as well as having a kick ass FFO guide which helped me a lot. Too bad he has a chip on his shoulder.
32 - Myke - Well, he's a better writer than Aaron Baker, nice little Zelda guides and stuff, and I like the Wrestlemania guide.
49 - Kain Stryder - The FF4 guide is good, and I like the newer RPG stuff.
Let me just say for a record I hope none of these losers win. |

Division 8 Rematch:
ABSTAIN, can't judge it.
Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan: I enjoy most of his work, overall...
33 - Aaron Baker: Aaron Baker's one of my favorite writers on the site. We're a team, and his TimeSplitters 2 guide is amazing.
16 - Wolf Feather: Wolf Feather is a godsend to racing fans, and I overall like his work more than Kain's.

22 - Kayama
Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan: So much quality, quantity and variety, he deserves the vote.
32 - Myke: Myke's FAQs are to the point, and concise, and fill the standard for a good FAQ.
16 - Wolf Feather: Wolf Feather's FAQs are awesome, especially for the racing games. --- "I pwned Link316!!!" - Me "Don't brag. Everyone's pwned Link316 at least once." - A Link to the Past |

Division 8 Rematch:
22 - Kayama
Division 1 Matches:
65 - Fox - Devin Morgan is a great writer, but I personally like the style and depth of Fox's writing better.
32 - Myke - This guy gets my vote because I like his formatting better and his information is great.
16 - Wolf Feather - Kain is a great writer, but Wolf Feather gets my vote with his very in-depth guides and tough genres.

Nintendo, please, only talk when you have an idea to what it is you're talking about. Thanks.
Also, let's try to remember that we're supposed to be voting here, not going at it.
1 - Devin Morgan - Devin gets my vote. His walkthroughs are easy to browse through and there's not a large amount of tables to clog things up. I can honestly say I've used his walkthroughs for a few games and they've proved most helpful. Fox's stuff is good, but I generally perfer the smaller and easier FAQs to read than the big ones.
33 - Aaron Baker - Rather hard vote, but Aaron gets it. Both authors write rather well, but I lean more towards Aaron. Format and all was easy to navigate, as was Myke's, but I felt his information was just overall better, as was his work.

22 - Kayama (I changed my vote to thicken the plot) 1 - Devin Morgan (because he's sexy. I win. Oh, and it's easy to find things in his stuff. Like all of those naughty cyber sex IMs that are subtly placed in his FAQs. Grrrrowl) 32 - Myke (Myke helps me. When I see Myke's stuff, I know I can trust it, because you can always trust crazy people.) 49 - Kain Stryder (more substance. And he works like a mad house. Single day FAQs for 9 hour games? Steve, I quote the band Gob for how many on the board feel about ya:
Don't make me listen to the stupid broken record again. The needle is skipping and repeating never reaching the end. You know you're *****ing and complaining like you got it so tough. We're sick of all your crying will you ever shut up?
So keep bleeding your fake blood, till no one even sees it. And if that's the best you can make up, at least act like you mean it!
Give up the grudge, shut your ****ing mouth! Why you gotta judge everybody but yourself!?
As for the tourney:
107 - hooi (after abstaining yesterday, I took a closer look and decided I liked the format and flow of hooi a tad bit more, hopefully helping to break the deadlock).
1 - Devin Morgan (Fox is still improving, but I will have to give a close vote to DMorgan. His rock-steady writing and accurate information makes him the man here).
33 - Aaron Baker (I am going to go with Aaron, with the winning factor being his extreme sports FAQs. Taking games I am utterly lost in while playing, he makes it so even myself has a chance of getting through the game).
Neither (I am finding it too tough to pick between these two fabulous writers, so I will leave it up to the rest of the board to decide their fate). --- Yap, yap, yap! Shut your trap! - Flak |

107 - hooi: What can I say. Both authors have done good work in the area of translating, but hooi also had well-structured and seemingly helpful FAQs.
1 - Devin Morgan: Oy, if ever there was a tough match this is it. Both Morgan and Fox have great walkthroughs that go into detail and lay out each solution clearly, but Morgan's work spans an amazing amount of games. Not saying quantity matters more than quality, but that's a hell of a lot of quality work.
32 - Myke: Baker had those huge paragraphs that bug me. They both had the info and structure, but Myke split his paragraphs up nicely.
16 - Wolf Feather: I don't think I voted for either in the previous round, but this time I have to give it up for FeatherGuides. I sat here thinking about which type of FAQ is more difficult to write about (not that Stryder is exclusive to any type), and those racing games ain't easy. So many variables in each race... Anyway, Wolf Feather just barely edges out Kain Stryder.

22 - Kayama vs.107 - hooi: Looks at yesterdays topic, abstained yesterday, abstain today.
Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan vs. 65 - Fox: His format might not be spectacular but it is consistent and always does the job. He also has more variation but that might just be because he has more FAQ's.
33 - Aaron Baker vs. 32 - Myke: Better format (which includes paragraphs).
16 - Wolf Feather vs. 49 - Kain Stryder: Both have excellent and in depth information in their FAQ's. But once you get past the top of the FAQ, Kain's format is better. --- Goku- Look Vegeta! People popcorn! Vegeta- Ah! What is he on?! |

Devin - No reason, invalidate my voting! No really, do. Myke - Close match, but I prefer Myke's formatting it's easier to understand. WolfFeather - There are no better racing guides on the site (apart from my GT3 one, but let's not get into it).

1 - Devin Morgan While I do love some of Fox's work (Shenmue II is one of my favorites), Devin's formatting is nearly perfect and it's ridiculously easy to find what you're looking for in his stuff. Also, he's written for a large variety of different games.
32 - Myke Spiffy formatting and a better quality of writing are just a few things Myke has over Aaron. The paragraphs in Baker's stuff really put a bee in my bonnet, as well.

Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan: His guides seem to be quite easily read and quite detailed, particulary with the RPG games that he has done
32 - Myke: Myke really puts a lot of time into his guides especailly the sports games that he has done one for as well as the NASCAR games. He's the only other person that is going to be doing a guide for a NASCAR Thunder games besides me.
16 - Wolf Feather: I looked through her racing guides prior to this just out of curiousity and I do say that the guides are quite good. Very detailed covering every aspect of that game whether if it's a racing game like Gran Turismo or F1.

Division 1 Matches:
1 - Devin Morgan - Fox is a great writer with some awesome work but when you're put up against the most prolific writer on GameFAQs, it gets hard to win. Devin Morgan's guides are well formatted with great information and Fox shares the same characteristics. The breaker would be Devin's much more extensive FAQ history however.
32 - Myke - Myke's guides are well formatted with good content. I particularly enjoyed his GTA guide. Really helpful.
49 - Kain Stryder - I don't like the fact that Wolf Feather covers racing games the most. In my opinion, RPGs and similar need the guides more which is why Kain wins it. --- Dude, your dead body smells. |

Div. 8 Rematch:
107 - hooi - I have to give it to her here. Both hooi and Kayama did translations of various Japanese games, which is always a plus in my book, but she also covered well several of those same translated games in her own walkthroughs. That really shows she cares to fully cover a game, instead of just translating it and leaving it for someone else to 'finish the job' of.
Division 1:
Abstain (can't vote my own match)
32 - Myke - Overall his style of writing is what puts him ahead here. I looked through several of Wayalla's work, and I don't really like how he laid them out, giving much room for improvement.
16 - Wolf Feather - To be blunt, WF does what hardly any of us could possibly do, and very well at that. Nothing against Kain, since he does lovely work for the games he covers, but it just doesn't stand out. Any of us could cover an RPG well, but it takes ALOT more to do the same extensive coverage of games in the racing genre. So with that, I give WF the pass to go on here...
