Hi folks! Welcome back to day three of proceedings here at the NPFWT. Yesterdays results were as follows:

* * *

Jagged Jim 22 - 26 Legomondo

Rockin N Deep 27 - 22 namod65

MTincher 40 - 11 Syonyx

* * *

Apart from a rather embarrassing result for poor Syonyx, the matches were nail-bitingly close, providing a great deal of drama even at this early stage of the contest. I for one can hardly wait until the knockout stage.. who KNOWS how closely fought those matches could be!

Todays matches look equally unpredictable, with the much respected Aggrosk8er entering the blood bath know as Group F. I have no idea how it will turn out, but one thing is for certain: all the competitors will want to get that valuable first win under their belt.

So, I'll post the links, followed by the scorecard, and we'll be off to a flying start to day three!

This doesn't concern the contest itself but I changed my contributor name from Irving to Dark Vortex. So you might want to change it. ;)

Just a point of interest. According to the group listing, Legomondo has PLAYED one game, yet WON one and LOST one game.

I'll add my 0.02c worth on today's entries later on today.

Vash The Stampede 2 - 1 kenb215

Gold Mage 1 - 2 Warhawk

Aggrosk8er 1 - 2 Irving

Deadmeat X - Zephyrmaster: No score.

Some notes from my part:

Vash vs Ken
Vash takes the cookie because of his superior formatting (lovely headers!)

Gold Mage vs Warhawk
Both guides have cool headers, although Gold's headers are slightly prettier. It's when Warhawk start making ASCII maps that you know he deserves to win. One word of advice Warhawk: there's a major grammar error at the end of the first chapter of the walkthrough: "Did Harry really dead?"

Aggrosk8er vs Irving
Irving wins because of his beautiful formatting and ditto ASCII.

Myself vs Zephyrmaster
No score for obvious reasons.

Match 1
Both guides have excellent content for their respective games, but Vash wins on layout.

Match 2
So close I wish I could do 1.5 points each. Gold Mage's AS-KEY (sorry, bad joke) headers are great, as is Warhawk's giant ASCII S & H headers. Excellent tables by both authors, superb and easy to read layout in both cases as well.
The only thing that wins it for Warhawk is the ASCII overhead floor maps. I cannot think of anyone that would find this game hard if they followed this guide.

Match 3
Sorry Agrro, but I was scared off by your ASCII title >;^D. A overly long update list doesn't help your cause. Whilst the information is there, it still isn't the best looking layout that I've seen (and I'm in no way saying that my layout is better then yours).
Dark Vortex's guide is so easy to navigate, it's almost criminal >B^D. I don't think the game player is dense enough that they need an ASCII Gameboy to let them know where the controls are, although it is still nice to look at.

Match 4
Zephyrmaster, I think that some of your lists (weapons, items, etc..) could do with going in a table as it looks a little untidy in it's current format. At least you've put your full version history at the end so anyone who wants to know what you've done can read it if they so wish.
Deadmeat, I cannot find anything out of place in your guide (maybe someone will prove me wrong). Great info and great layout.
