| Needed: 7 Older Bounty-Worthy Games |

I mentioned earlier I wanted keep 50 bounties active for any month, and I'm at 43 now. So, I'm looking for 7 older games for cart-based systems (thinking NES/SNES/GEN/TG16/GB/GBC) that could really use FAQs. RPGs are great, as are action-adventure games with puzzles mixed in.
Don't just list random games; explain a bit why you think a bounty should be placed on it. And while it's not a valid reason to list a bounty, listing a game that you particularly want to write a guide for is fine.

I believe Final Fantasy III for the NES is worth giving a bounty. There are rumors and specuations that it will soon be remade for either the old psx or gba. I think you should give it a chance. --- "Let's mosey!" |

Catrap - Game Boy Older puzzle game, much like The Adventures Of Lolo, that is based on an upright setting. Due to this, solving some of the latter puzzles is quite complicated. Not the most popular game in the world, but one that could definitely use a decent guide, and isn't too bad of a game, either. You could easily slap a small bounty on it and get some freak like Schultz to do it. =)

CJayC, dude. We all know bodily noises are big sellers, so one must wonder why Boogerman, the game that brought gross to mainstream gaming, remains without a FAQ.
I mean its a classic among platform/action games, and it is pretty high on the Genesis request list. Perhaps a bounty will bring along the FAQ it deserves. --- ........SERENITY NOW!!!........ ::Elite Rogue:: {//=|RDoN|=\\} |

Smash Tennis for SNES might be worth giving a bounty for. I play sometimes on zbattle.net and see others playing. The way I trash some of those players they could sure use a FAQ.
I'm not sure if Walkthroughs count as FAQs but Sword of Vermillion for the Genesis is a fun RPG with only a general Walkthrough. --- FFT Versus Tournament http://cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/gentopic.asp?board=19482 |

I recommend more SNES, and GBC/GB games be added to the mix. Some interesting titles may be:
Might and Magic II (SNES)
Batman Forever (SNES) <-- #1 in SNES requests
^Batman Forever is a challenging fighting game, and a move list would take a lot of difficult effort. Might and Magic II is a long known strategy series, and any sort of guide would help the person succeed.
Grand Theft Auto 2 (GBC)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (GBC)
^Both are well known games that have always had huge fan bases in the past. GBC games tend to not get FAQed mainly because of their scarcity. Excellent games to cover, as the guides would most likely be used frequently. --- "Some people make sacrifices to make other people happy." http://antseezee.sphosting.com/ - An updated NES Rarity Guide is out! |

How about... AD&D: Pool of Radiance (NES). It's an old D&D game, but I've seen there are some people out there who are REALLY good for covering this sort of game. And with that, I feel if we can lure someone that good into detailing a game like this, they deserve some reward.

Pool of Radiance (NES) is another great mention, however, the game has currently been FAQed by a person named Overdrive (for the past few months). It would be nice to add a bounty, but the work is nearly complete for him. The reason Rambo 3, is that it is the only such console game I can ferret out of my memory, that is somewhat entertaining and had remained without a guide up for a loooong time.
However, if you're gonna review this topic, I might throw in a comment that searching for bounty entries in this way is not a 'fair' way of doing so. People come and list the games they can write a FAQ for to win the cash, without letting in random games that will never have a chance.

First off, thank you for putting Tear Ring Saga up for a bounty. Although I don't have it, it certainly deserves a FAQ/Walkthrough.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
(SNES)
It's easily the hardest SRPG to date. Makes Hoshigami seem like a cakewalk. I had a FAQ for it going until my hard drive crashed... I know it was just on the list, but if any SRPG deserves to be on that list then it's this.
Batman Forever
(SNES)

I'm not sure what to suggest, I'll have to have a look.
For those that mentioned Final Fantasy III, it already has four complete FAQs. Bounties usually have nothing, or incomplete FAQs before they're filled.
Also Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is an old bounty that was never filled, so I doubt that would be returning any time soon.

I'm afraid I don't really have any suggestions, Ceej. I believe the number of bounties should be relative to the number of games without coverage and with reasonable requests.
Not like it matters too much to me, anyway.

Seeing a COMPLETE walkthrough for Great Greed would indeed make me and I'll bet several others happy. Also Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is an old bounty that was never filled, so I doubt that would be returning any time soon.
I guess... Also, since the first Fire Emblem to hit American shores came out, more and more people have become fans of the series and someone will probably make a FAQ for that anyway.
And another "glitch" I've found is that even though some games have been taken off the Bounty list, when you go to Features - Requested FAQs List and go to a specific system at the bottom, the price tag still remains. --- Because it's a 100 posts. CJayC, I have been playing NES games since 1986 and writing FAQs since 1996.
Never has a game needed a guide more than Overlord for the NES. Half the battle is figuring out what to do in this game, never mind knowing what to do once you know what the heck is going on.
If you are looking for an old NES game where the FAQ writer will have to earn his money, Overlord is that game. I won't touch it with a 10-foot pole

| Phantasy Star for Genesis is EXACTLY the same as the Master System version. Actually it IS the Master System game. It was just packed into a Genesis cartridge and it works similar to the Master System adapter. Cross linking to the Master System FAQs would do. |

I dunno Ikea The game could use some in-depth faqs.. >_>
I have an idea if you ever get bored ceej, "Requests by Genre". So instead of picking a request for a system, you can pick a request for a genre. So the Fighters would have a list, the Shooters would have a list Etc. Etc. --- Happybuddha311:NIFTY EH? |

Here's three Game Boy ones, if bounties didn't exist for them before.
First, the ones by Rare (if I remember correctly)
1) Wizards & Warriors X
2) Amazing Spider-Man
I'll be honest. Both of these games could be _really_ annoying, especially when it came to the damage system. Heavy, continuous damage with no temporary invincibility for breathing space = no fun. But they also had interesting play mechanics. Spider-Man had a momentum-based "high jump" move, could web-swing and had to scale tall buildings in two levels (great excuse to flex his Spidey-sense!). Full-armor-suited Kuros had issues with long falls, couldn't attack in midair (how...realistic!), and had to _very_ carefully pick fights (and attacks), since most foes took more than one hit to destroy, and even the weaklings might survive if you didn't hit 'em full-on. On a sidenote, it'd be great if someone could settle the issue of whether the "Shield of Protection" in Wizards & Warriors X does anything at all. :)
3) Hunt for Red October
In my humble opinion, an extremely innovative game for its time. Slow and strategic gets Red October safely to its defection goal (and since, well, your sub was slow to begin with, you were already halfway there :P). Nice graphics, big bosses, and puzzles in the form of the environment. It could also be heck annoying at times, but it was still quite playable, and not _completely_ impossible (as long as you used your caterpillar drives and guided missiles wisely). Tapping the D-Pad left or right to switch the sub's orientation was a nice touch. You could even use trajectory (moving the sub up, forward) to shoot torpedos over above-land hills to hit ships on the other side! :) One of the more epic action games, with a pretty nice soundtrack to boot. --- --MavZR http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/5772.html |
