Today is my 4-year GameFAQs anniversary.

Well, I'm not really my happiest, either.

Ever have the feeling you've made a gigantic mistake? What if that mistake cost you about thirteen hundred bucks?

This movie is starting to make me crazy. Trying to keep track of all this actors and placement and everything is nuts. I spent thirty bucks on CANDLES. Why am I doing this?

But every so often, I'll talk to someone about it and they'll say, "I can't wait to see it." or "Keep me posted" or something like this. Normally, I never talk to my friends about the process of writing; even my brother is usually in the dark about the details of such things until it's done (for FAQs or creative writing).

But a movie isn't something I can do on my own. Even if it was a cartoon or something, I'd need SOME help along the way. If something I was writing sat on the shelf forever, nobody cared. All of a sudden, I'm under the microscope.

So now I'm stuck, no matter what. I HAVE to do this, even if I don't have time. People are actually looking forward to this. So I cannot let my friends down.

I can't tell if that's good or not.

Well, not really that but, I'm trying to clean up my computer full of viruses and spyware. Got the spyware gone, but during the virus killing, I kinda screwed up to where IE can not run anymore (as in clicking on it will not do anything). I also did this with Yahoo as well.

How am I on here you all ask, I opened up My Documents, and in its taskbar, I typed out gamefaqs.com and well here I am.

However to KK, not $1,300, but a friend blew about $5,000 on a "at home business" scam through Ebay (I think that's what it was).

*chuckles at all the commotion* It is an amazing thing that with age, many of these things really don't matter any more. The big words, the egos, etc. Besides, if somebody really bothers you, just do what I do...Soldier of Fortune is your friend.

As for me, I passed two years about 20 some-odd days ago.

Yeah, I spend 20 minutes writing posts on a board consulting thesauri. Don't flatter yourself. I think reading can help me just the same. Read high-level stuff, and you'll be surprised how much you learn.

I for one certainly believe that Mike has contributed far more to this site than you have. The majority of people come here to get help, not read reviews contrived by elitist writers with a preconceived notion that they are better than others because they know how to use a dictionary.

Bahahahaha. I can't stop laughing at this garbage. First, I write FAQS, too. Second, playing off good writers as 'just being able to use a dictionary' is nothing more than lame hyperbole. Get a grip.

Maybe we might need some more pointless trolling from young Brian.
From: Masamune3 | Posted: 3/29/2005 3:19:03 PM | Message Detail
I never said that good writers just use a dictionary. I never said you were a good writer, for that matter. The fact remains, is that I value Mike's maps over almost all your work (such as your Battle Mechanics Guide, which should have been left for people far more knowledgeable on the issue than you and Siniroth). Wait, you don't care? Good for you.

Stop trying to flaunt your intellect and ego for once and start living on the ground with the rest of us.

FAQs > Maps, but maps are still very important.

It takes a lot of skill and time to make good maps; I remember my first map for Shenmue II and when I started I thought I would get the entire games areas done. I stopped just after that one because I realised how long it took to do, and how just right you have to make it otherwise it just goes arse up on you. Mike, Engel and other map makers should be proud of what they have contributed...

Sorry to start that up again, but I just wanted my input that's all.

You know what, FF? Believe whatever you like. If you want to think of me as some uneducated bumpkin because I am unimpressed by the word "thesauri," then that is your privilege.

What we don't need on this board is arrogant writers who seem to think of the acquisition of vocabulary and written works as bricks in one's castle. The greatest writers on this site are the ones humble enough to realize both the gravity and the general insignificance of what we do here. Once we use this as a way to try to attack or undercut our peers, once we create this imaginary hierarchy to stack us above others, we swiftly lose sight of the reason any of this is done in the first place.

But that is your privilege to do so. But if this is how you respond to the mild criticisms of peers, I cannot imagine how you treat those not "smart enough" to write FAQs or dare ask for your assistance in games.

I need karma on this account:

King Kool - I wasn't talking to you. No need for such a post.

Karpah - I really don't care about how you feel on matters.

Masa - To tell you the truth, I didn't even give you the time of the day and just skipped this entire post.

LOL Brian. LOL.

I find it pretty funny that you decided to skip my post (I know for a fact you read it, so don't BS me). That happens a lot when people simply don't have what it takes to make a clever retort to save face.

Not that it really matters. For a long time now you have been taking pride in the way you talk down to others, like some kind of brat rich boy, and I think most people here would agree that it's getting very old. To be honest, I don't know why I even keep arguing with you. I take no pleasure having a battle of wit with an unarmed opponent.

Atom Edge and King Kool summed up my thoughts on the matter very well. I'll leave it at that.

The irony is that stupid arguments like this have gone on at GameFAQs every day in those 4 years he's been here.

The more things change..

I'm directing a movie, a one-act play, and I've got gobs of homework. I can only invest time in demorailzing you when I have a surplus thereof.

Thank you, clock.

And you found the time, Penguin, because what you do is not demoralizing, but merely insulting. It is far easier.

I haven't been demoralized in years, and it certainly wasn't online. If you think you're the only one that's ever gotten on my nerves, you're sadly mistaken.

You bore me. If you've run out of uninteresting attempts to snark at me, then feel free to leave my topic, which you have failed to drag into the quagmire where you would like to have it.

Hi guys :)

This is my 6th or 7th year here at GameFAQs. My 4th as a FAQ writer (albeit an inactive one), but hey whatever. Glad to see the board is still lively and up in flames.
